Robotics & Electronics Classes for Kids in NJ
Hands-on Arduino classes for kids, electronics classes, Raspberry Pi projects, soldering, and real robot building. Not toy kits — professional tools, real code, and circuits your child designs from scratch. The only robotics classes for kids in NJ that teach real mechatronics engineering. Located in Marlboro, NJ.

What Kids Learn in Our Robotics & Electronics Classes
Our robotics and electronics classes for kids are the backbone of every Plum Crazy Robotics program phase. Students progress from basic circuit concepts to building autonomous robots — using Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, and the same professional tools used by working engineers. If you’re searching for Arduino classes for kids in NJ, electronics classes for kids, or hands-on STEM classes that go beyond drag-and-drop coding, this is where real engineering starts.
Circuit Fundamentals
Breadboarding, resistors, capacitors, LEDs, motors, and sensors. As a result, students learn to read schematics and build real working circuits from scratch — the foundation of every electronics class for kids at Plum Crazy Robotics.
Arduino & Microcontrollers
In our Arduino classes for kids, students program Arduino boards to control motors, read sensors, and make real-time decisions. This is the same platform used in professional prototyping worldwide.
Robot Construction
Chassis assembly, motor wiring, and sensor integration. For example, students build robots that drive, sense obstacles, follow lines, and compete — hands-on robotics for kids at its best.
Soldering & Fabrication
Real soldering classes for kids on real PCBs. Students learn proper technique with safety equipment, close supervision, and the satisfaction of building permanent circuits. Unlike most STEM programs, we teach hands-on soldering from Phase 1.
ESP32 & Raspberry Pi
Advanced students work with WiFi/Bluetooth-enabled ESP32 boards and Raspberry Pi for wireless robot control, IoT projects, and remote sensing. These are the same Raspberry Pi classes for kids and ESP32 projects that prepare students for real engineering careers.
Troubleshooting & Debugging
The most important engineering skill. However, most programs skip this entirely. At Plum Crazy Robotics, students learn to systematically diagnose problems — because real engineering is mostly debugging.
Skills They'll Gain
What Is Mechatronics?
Mechatronics is the interdisciplinary blend of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, and control systems. It's what makes modern technology work — from smartphones to self-driving cars to industrial robots.
Most programs teach robotics assembly — following step-by-step on-screen directions to build a specific model from a pre-packaged kit. At Plum Crazy Robotics, students learn mechatronics engineering: designing circuits, writing real code, soldering components, and building machines that sense, react, and make real-world decisions.
Beyond the Kit: Our students don't follow instructions to assemble someone else's design. They create their own. Weather stations, autonomous robots, IoT sensors, robotic arms, wireless-controlled vehicles — custom builds designed by the student using Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, and professional microcontrollers.
Plum Crazy Robotics is the only professional-grade mechatronics engineering program for kids in New Jersey. Whether you’re searching for Arduino classes for kids in NJ, Raspberry Pi classes for kids, electronics classes near me, or a real robotics school in NJ — this is it. Serving families from Marlboro, Manalapan, Freehold, Holmdel, Colts Neck, Morganville, Old Bridge, Middletown, East Brunswick, Aberdeen, Matawan, Hazlet, Howell, Monmouth County, and all of Central New Jersey.
Which Phase of Robotics Classes Is Right for Your Child?
Foundation (Phase 1) — Perfect for beginners with no experience. Students learn electronics fundamentals, basic Arduino programming, and build their first real robots. This is where most robotics classes for kids start at Plum Crazy Robotics.
Engineer (Phase 2) — For students who’ve demonstrated competence in Phase 1. Advanced Arduino builds, Raspberry Pi projects, Python coding, drone building, 3D printing, and complex multi-system engineering projects. Requires instructor approval.
Innovator (Phase 3) — AI development, machine learning, computer vision, and independent projects. Max 4 students. Portfolio review required.
Additionally, Phase 2+ students can join our Combat Robotics League or attend our 3-day Arduino & Combat Robotics Camp. We also offer robotics birthday parties in NJ and coding & AI classes. Call (732) 359-4299 to discuss which level fits your child.
Tools & Technologies
