Information We Collect

We collect the following information through our website forms:

• Parent/guardian name, email, phone number
• Child's age and program interest
• SMS communication preferences
• reCAPTCHA interaction data (for spam prevention)

Our Student Toolbox collects usage data (code submissions, AI interactions) to provide educational feedback. This data is processed through a secure server-side proxy and is not shared with third parties.

How We Use Your Information

• To respond to inquiries and enrollment requests
• To communicate about programs, schedules, and events
• To send SMS updates (only with explicit opt-in consent)
• To provide educational services through the Student Toolbox
• To prevent spam and protect our systems (reCAPTCHA)

Data Storage & Security

Form submissions are stored in Google Sheets secured by Google Workspace. Our Student Toolbox processes data through Google Apps Script with server-side API keys. Enrollment forms are protected by dual-layer password authentication. We use SHA-256 hashing for administrative credentials. No payment card data is stored on our servers — all payments are processed through Stripe.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate our website, process payments, deliver educational tools, fulfill orders, and measure the effectiveness of our marketing:

• Google Analytics: Website traffic analysis and visitor behavior tracking. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymized usage data including pages visited, time on site, and referral sources. You can opt out via the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on.
• Google Ads: We may use Google Ads remarketing to show relevant advertisements to people who have previously visited our website. This uses cookies to track visits and display ads on Google's partner network. You can manage ad personalization at Google Ad Settings.
• Google (Forms, Sheets, reCAPTCHA, Calendar): Form processing, lead management, spam prevention, and appointment booking.
• Facebook / Meta Pixel: We use the Meta Pixel to measure the effectiveness of our Facebook and Instagram advertising, track conversions, and build audiences for targeted ads. The Pixel collects data about your browsing activity on our site. You can manage your ad preferences at Facebook Ad Preferences.
• Stripe: Payment processing (PCI-compliant). No payment card data is stored on our servers.
• WooCommerce: Our shop (shop.plumcrazyrobotics.com) runs on WooCommerce, which uses cookies to manage shopping cart sessions, track orders, and provide analytics on store performance.
• Anthropic (Claude AI): AI-powered educational feedback in the Student Toolbox. Student code submissions are processed through a secure server-side proxy. Data is not stored by Anthropic beyond the API request.
• Amazon Associates: Affiliate product links on our shop. When you click an affiliate link, Amazon may place cookies to track the referral. Amazon's privacy policy applies to all purchases made on Amazon.com.
• Printful: Print-on-demand merchandise fulfillment. When you place a merch order, your shipping information is shared with Printful to fulfill and deliver your order. Printful's privacy policy applies to order data.
• Twilio: We use (or plan to use) Twilio to send SMS text messages to parents/guardians who have explicitly opted in to receive text updates about programs and events. Your phone number is shared with Twilio solely for message delivery. You can opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP.

Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies for the following purposes:

• Essential cookies: WordPress session management, WooCommerce cart functionality, reCAPTCHA security verification
• Analytics cookies: Google Analytics (anonymized site usage data)
• Advertising cookies: Facebook/Meta Pixel (ad conversion tracking), Google Ads remarketing (retargeted advertising)
• Affiliate cookies: Amazon Associates (referral tracking on affiliate product links)

Terms of Service

By enrolling in Plum Crazy Robotics programs, you agree to our policies including: no refunds, no makeups, no prorations, and 30 days written notice required for cancellation (prior to end of billing cycle). All forms must be submitted and approved prior to a student's first class. Full terms are provided in the enrollment agreement.

Covenant Not to Compete

Instructors and staff are bound by a 2-year, 25-mile radius non-compete agreement. Families agree to no outside contact with instructors (social media, private tutoring, etc.).

Amazon Affiliate Disclosure

Plum Crazy Robotics is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for us to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites. Product recommendations on our shop are curated by our instructors.

Google Drive & Document Storage

Parents and guardians may upload documents (registration forms, student IDs, medical documents, combat waivers) through our secure document portal. Uploaded files are transmitted over HTTPS and stored in Google Drive, which encrypts data at rest and in transit. Access to uploaded documents is restricted to authorized Plum Crazy Robotics staff only. Documents are retained for the duration of enrollment plus 12 months after the student's last class, after which they are permanently deleted.

YouTube Embedded Content

Our website embeds videos from YouTube (a Google service). When you visit a page containing a YouTube embed, YouTube may set cookies on your device and collect data about your viewing activity, including your IP address and browser information. This data is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. You can manage YouTube and Google cookie preferences at Google Data & Privacy Settings.

Hosting & Data Storage

Our website is hosted by SiteGround, with servers located in the United States. SiteGround provides SSL/TLS encryption, automated backups, server-level security monitoring, and DDoS protection. All personal data submitted through our website is stored on SiteGround's secured infrastructure. SiteGround's privacy practices are governed by their own privacy policy.

Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach that compromises personal information, Plum Crazy Robotics will notify affected individuals within 30 days of discovering the breach, in accordance with the New Jersey Identity Theft Prevention Act (N.J.S.A. 56:8-161 et seq.). Notification will include the nature of the breach, the types of information compromised, and steps individuals can take to protect themselves. We will also notify the New Jersey Division of State Police and any other required authorities.

Do Not Track Signals

Our website does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" (DNT) browser signals. However, you can manage tracking preferences through the individual opt-out tools provided by our third-party services (Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel) as described in the Third-Party Services section above.

California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to: request disclosure of what personal information we collect, use, and share; request deletion of your personal information; opt out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell personal information); and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. New Jersey Data Privacy Act

Under the New Jersey Data Privacy Act (effective January 2025), New Jersey residents have the right to: access their personal data; correct inaccuracies; request deletion; obtain a copy of their data in a portable format; and opt out of targeted advertising, sale of personal data, and profiling. To exercise these rights, contact us at classes@plumcrazyrobotics.com or call (732) 359-4299. We will respond within 45 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs.

Photography & Media Release

Plum Crazy Robotics may photograph and video record students during classes, bootcamps, competitions, and events for use on our website, social media, marketing materials, and press coverage. Enrollment constitutes consent for photography and media use unless a parent or guardian explicitly opts out in writing. To opt out, contact us at classes@plumcrazyrobotics.com. Previously published photos will be removed upon written request within 30 days. All student photos are stored securely and are never sold or shared with third parties for commercial purposes unrelated to Plum Crazy Robotics.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of our website constitutes acceptance of the current policy.
