  • How to unbox the Raspberry Pi
  • Updating the system and installing new and required programs
  • Create their first python file and program
  • Utilizing the GPIO pins
  • Create a circuit with resistors
  • Making an LED blink with the Pi
  • Text to speech

Raspberry Pi 102 & Python Programming

($699.00+ tax) Monday – Friday 9am-3pm. (LUNCH WILL NOT BE PROVIDED – PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN)

**pre-requisite is Rasberry Pi 101 or, you must be a current Plum Crazy student

Class Dates:    July 10, 2017 – July 14, 2017

August 7, 2017 – August 11, 2017

This class will piggyback on Raspberry Pi 101. Students will refresh their knowledge on:

  • How to unbox the Raspberry Pi
  • Updating the system and installing new and required programs
  • Create their first python file and program
  • Utilizing the GPIO pins
  • Create a circuit with resistors
  • Making an LED blink with the Pi
  • Text to speech

AND the student will expand their learning with:

  • Use of motion sensors
  • Installation and use of a camera to the Raspberry Pi
  • Introduction to servos
  • Introduction to DC Motors
  • Learning to remote access your Raspberry Pi
  • Learning to build their first servo Bot that they will take home with them!

Arduino – Building, Coding and Projects

($699.00+ tax) Monday – Friday 9am-3pm. (LUNCH WILL NOT BE PROVIDED – PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN)

Class Dates:           July 17, 2017 – July 21, 2017

August 14, 2017 – August 18, 2017

Arduino is a great way to get started with programming and hardware interaction. In this class, the student will get everything they need to complete tasks like:

  • Blinking an LED
  • Reading a Potentiometer
  • Driving and RGB LED
  • Driving Multiple LEDs
  • Push Buttons
  • Reading a Photo Resistor
  • Reading a Temperature Sensor
  • Driving a Servo Motor
  • Using a Flex Sensor
  • Reading a Soft Potentiometer
  • Using a Buzzer
  • Driving a Motor
  • Using Relays
  • Using a Shift Register
  • Using an LCD

You don’t need any previous programming or electronics experience to use this kit. The kit does not require any soldering and is recommended for beginners ages 10 and up although, we have seen kids as young as 7 be able to handle the class.

Introduction to Robotics with Makeblock –

($699.00+ tax) Monday – Friday 9am-3pm. (LUNCH WILL NOT BE PROVIDED – PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN)

Class Dates:           July 24, 2017 – July 28, 2017

August 21, 2017 – August 25, 2017

After this class the student will go home with their very own mBot robot that they are goingng to build! Coding has become a new modern day language to express ideas, inspiring children’s originality, while helping develop logical thinking. The mBot special programming software is made up of colorful and modularized drag and drop graphical blocks based on scratch. Children can now feel accomplished when they are able to easily program the mBot without writing difficult codes and language and code easily converts into Arduino. This weeklong class will excite the student with:

  • Blue tooth technology
  • Ultrasonic Sensors
  • Line-follower Sensor
  • This class will end with an EXCITING BUT, friendly competition!
